The Central Library offers regularly scheduled storytimes for children of all ages. Storytimes are free of charge, do not require pre-registration and are held in the Dodson Room at the Central Library. Note: Room capacity of the Dodson Room is 60. Check our online event calendar or contact the Children’s Library for the current schedule.
Baby Time Storytime Series
For non-walking babies and a parent. Tuesdays, January 15 – March 5
2:00 – 2:45 p.m. (includes storytime and baby play time)

Note: Registration is for ALL EIGHT sessions.
This eight-week class focuses on the interaction between parent and child. Parents will learn a variety of bounces, songs, rhymes, fingerplays, and movement to use at home to develop baby’s early literacy skills. Baby play time occurs the last 20 minutes of class.
For children ages birth – 3 years with an adult partner.
Join Bethany or Bernice for a storytime that develops early literacy skills by introducing babies and toddlers to the love of books, songs, rhymes, fingerplays and movement. Lots of fun! Monday, January 14 – March 25at 10:05 a.m.; 10:35 a.m.; and 11:05 a.m. (No Storytime January 21 or February 18 as the library is closed) Tuesdays, January 15 – March 26 at 10:05 a.m.; 10:35 a.m.; and 11:05 a.m. Wednesdays, January 16 – March 27 at 10:05 a.m.; 10:35 a.m.; and 11:05 a.m.

Join Mandee or Julie for a storytime that encourages the development of pre-reading skills through stories, songs, rhymes, fingerplays and narrative. Enjoy a fun and simple craft at the end. Mondays, January 14 – March 25 at 2:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. (45 minute program) (No Storytime January 21 or February 18 as the library is closed) Thursdays, January 17 – March 28 at 10:15 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. (30 minute program)

For children ages 4 – 8 years (parents welcome!)

Looking to begin storytelling or craft your skills? The Storytellers Guild offers Storytelling Coaching from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. Storytelling begins at 7:00 p.m.
Every third Friday of the month from 6:00 – 8:30 p.m. in the Fireplace Room at the Fairhaven Branch Library.
