Builders Club

Children ages 4 – 12 are invited to join us for open, creative building and play! All supplies are provided including Legos, straw connectors and more. Duplos and other blocks will also be available for younger children.

Kaleidoscope Play & Learn

Summer Movie Matinees

Children and their families are invited to join us every Thursday, June 27 – August 8, for a PG-rated movie at 2pm in the Lecture Room of the Central Library!

Thursday, July 25: It’s been five years since everything was awesome in this new-release animated movie, and citizens are now facing a new threat: Duplo invaders from outer space, wrecking everything faster than they can rebuild. Movie is rated PG.

Thursday August 1: Enjoy this animated adventure in which free-spirited, uniquely crafted stuffed creatures confront what it means to be different, struggle with a desire to be loved, and ultimately discover that who you truly are matters most. Movie is rated PG.

Thursday August 8: In a world where people collect fictional species to do battle, Tim Goodman’s father solves mysteries and then goes missing himself. Tim teams up with his father’s former super-sleuth partner, a yellow mouse-like creature, to unravel the tangled mystery. Movie is rated PG.

51st Annual Children’s Craft Fair

Booth pre-registration is required! Booth registration is June 1 – July 23, or until we reach maximum capacity of 75 booths.

On the day of the craft fair, enjoy a wide array of crafts and baked goods handmade by local youth. All items are priced $4 or less.

Join Officer Jeremy Woodward as he explains a canine’s role in law enforcement. Also, watch demonstrations of some of the tasks the canines are trained to perform!

The Peace Tree from Hiroshima: The Little Bonsai with a Big Story by Sandra Moore

Come listen to a story told from the perspective of an ancient bonsai tree that endured the bombing of Hiroshima in 1945, and the legacy of peace it represents between Japan and the United States. Join the conversation and make a traditional Japanese paper folding craft.

This program is in partnership with the “Hiroshima Library” project of BRUNA press + archive which aims to build knowledge about the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki and focuses on the wisdom and legacy of peace that endures.
