What is Curbside Holds Pickup Service?
Curbside Pickup Service by pre-scheduled appointment continues at the Central branch only. If you wish to use Curbside pickup you must choose “Bellingham” as the location when you place your hold (not Fairhaven or Barkley.)
As of July 1, Barkley and Fairhaven holds will move back to their branches, and will no longer be at the Central branch.
Step 1: Request Items
Browse the Library catalog online and place items on hold using your library card barcode and PIN. Select “Bellingham” as the location. You can also call the library to request items at 360-778-7323.
Step 2: Wait until your items are ready for pickup
You’ll receive a notice by phone, email, or text when your items are ready for pickup. You can also log into your library account to view the status of your requests. Items that are ready for pickup will show as “Held.”
Step 3: Schedule a pickup appointment:

- Beginning Sept. 7, Curbside appointments will be scheduled for Saturdays, 4 – 6 pm
Step 4: Pick Up Your Holds
Come to the Central Library (210 Central Ave., Bellingham) during your scheduled pickup appointment hour. If we’re serving others at the pickup table, please form a line. Give staff the account name that you are picking up for. Materials will already be checked out, bagged, and waiting at the appointment time.
