What is Curbside Holds Pickup Service?
While our library buildings are not currently open to the public for indoor services or in-person browsing due to the Covid-19 pandemic and our remodel project, Bellingham Public Library provides materials through Curbside Pickup. At the Central branch, the Children’s Library and Lecture Room on the lower floor have been transformed to accommodate staff work stations, book quarantine area and and holds shelves. From June 2020 to March 2021 nearly 300,000 materials have been distributed. Take a peek at the behind-the-scenes video above to see how the Library Curbside Service works.
Items on hold at our Barkley and Fairhaven Branches, as well as holds for Bellingham Technical College, Western Washington University, and Whatcom Community College, are available for pick up by appointment at the Central Library, 210 Central Ave., Bellingham, WA.
For your safety and ours, pickup services are contact-free. We ask that all users maintain appropriate physical distancing (6 feet) and wear a face-covering while picking up holds.
