Book Club Resources

Bellingham Reads is an open book discussion group facilitated by a Bellingham Public Library staff member. Take a look at our 2022 reading list in the catalog.

Bellingham Reads offers two meeting options: in-person at noon in the Central Library lecture room, or virtually at 6:30 p.m. on the 4th Tuesday of the month.

To attend the in-person meeting, no registration is necessary, just show up.

To register for the virtual meeting email Suzanne Carlson-Prandini scarlson-prandini@cob.org 360-778-7236.

Here’s what has been read and discussed in the past:

KITKEEPER IS CURRENTLY OFFLINE DUE TO TECHNICAL ISSUES. WE APOLOGIZE FOR THE INCONVENIENCE AND HOPE TO HAVE ACCESS RESTORED SOON.

8/12/2022 – The KitKeeper software used to reserve the Bellingham Public Library book club kits is currently not working. The vendor is aware and working on the issue, but when it will be working again is unknown.

The following services are unavailable until further notice for both patrons and staff:

  • Reserving kits
  • Viewing upcoming kit reservations

If you received a confirmation email for a kit pick-up, please forward it to us at bplhelp@cob.org. Staff will use this to prepare the kit for you.

If you did not opt for an email notification, we are unable to act until KitKeeper comes back online.

We apologize for the inconvenience, and sincerely hope that the issue will be resolved shortly. Please keep an eye on our website for updates, or call us at (360) 778-7323.

Book Club Kits must be reserved. Please schedule your kit pick-up at least a couple days in advance to ensure that staff have time to prepare it for you. They check-out for 32 days. Each kit contains 10 copies of a title and a reading guide with questions and background information.

View a list of kits in the catalog. When you see a kit of interest in the catalog, click on the link to reserve it. Or, go straight to KitKeeper . Click on the Welcome/ Help tab or watch the video below for additional tips for finding and reserving titles.
