Once upon a time there were two friends, a cat named Sam and a caterpillar named Spotty. They decided to take a trip together. They met at the Space Needle and from there decided they wanted to visit the state of Montana.
Traveling north they saw Mt. Baker. It looked like a big ice cream cone! When they reached Mount Vernon, they passed the beautiful tulip and daffodil fields. They turned and headed east. They were driving along when suddenly BAM! They ran right into a horse; Spotty fell out the window! Sam hurried to rescue the little caterpillar from getting run over by a car. Whew! He reached him just in time.
"Thank you," said Spotty.
"That's what friends are for," said Sam.
The friends drove on. It was a long drive. As they drove east through Spokane, Spotty became sleepy. He settled back in his seat and spun a chrysalis while Sam continued driving to Montana.
Two friends crossed the Montana state line, a cat named Sam and now a Butterfly named Spotty.
