Summer Reading 2016
On Your Mark, Get Set, READ! June 4 - August 31
Summer Reading begins June 4th!
Note: All public and most private schools will receive and distribute
a summer reading log to students in the beginning of June.
We have two programs this year:
Summer reading for ages birth - 5 years: complete
20 early literacy activities that get families talking, singing,
reading, writing and playing together! Activity sheet will be
available on June 4th, online and at the Central, Fairhaven Branch and
Barkley Branch Libraries.
- Summer Reading for ages 5 - 12 years: read
(or listen to!) books for 15 hours over the summer.
We are working to put together a summer full of programs and will have a great line-up for all ages. Here are some key dates:
The 48th Annual Children's Craft Fair
will be Friday, July 29 from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Registration opens
- The Summer Reading Recognition Ceremony with Mayor Linville will be
Thursday, August 18th from 2:00 - 3:00 p.m. on the Central Library Lawn.
The Summer Reading program is sponsored by the Friends of the Bellingham
Public Library and other Community Partners.
