Whatcom Information Network (WIN)
Directory of Community Organizations and Services

What is WIN?

WIN is an on-line directory of over 2000 clubs, organizations, and agencies that provide services to residents of Whatcom County. All kinds of organizations are in WIN. See below for a list of the type of organizations that are included. The directory is maintained by the Bellingham Public Library. All information in the listings is provided by the organizations. WIN information is up-dated annually. Links to organization home pages are provided when available.

How can I access WIN?

Go directly to Whatcom Information Network

WIN is available through the Bellingham Public Library/Whatcom County Library Systems' on-line catalog. To access WIN from Bellingham Public Library's web page go to www.bellinghampubliclibrary.org and select library catalog. Select Whatcom Information Network from the menu.

How can my organization be included in WIN?

WIN includes organizations that provide services or activities that are available to and/or of interest to residents of Whatcom County. Organizations included are nonprofit agencies, professional organizations, social and fraternal organizations, political and advocacy groups, and government agencies. Also included are organizations offering low-cost or free entertainment, sporting events, etc. Organizations (such as churches) that offer services to the community at large, not just their own members, and private companies that provide a community service not otherwise available in the community are included too. To request that your organization be listed, contact Jane Lowrey, Community Resource Librarian at the Bellingham Public Library 647-6365 ext. 230 or jlowrey@cob.org or FAX information to 676-7795.

What should I do if my organization is listed but the information is incomplete or out-of-date?

Notify the library using the contact information above. The new information will be added to or corrected in your organization's listing.

I belong to several organizations but I'm not an officer, should I provide information for WIN?

Please contact someone in each organization who would be willing to provide the updated information and encourage that person to do so.

Is WIN available in print?

The most up-to-date information is always the on-line data. WIN has been printed twice in book form. The most recent directory was printed in April 2000.WIN is not currently available in print.
