New public service desks and Express Check at the Fairhaven Branch Library

The Friends of the Fairhaven Branch Library and the Friends of the Bellingham Public Library worked together to fund new modular, flexible public service desks at the Fairhaven Branch Library. The desks were modeled after the original 1904 desk shown in an historical photograph on display at the Fairhaven Branch. Two of the new desks can be adjusted for height to allow ergonomic use by customers and staff.

In conjunction with the desk installation an Express Check station was installed at the Fairhaven Branch Library. Express Check helps customers to get in and out of the library quickly. Customers check out books and other items on their own without waiting in line. The Bellingham Friends of the Library funded the equipment for the Express Check station.
