Are you ever stuck in the waiting room while going to the doctor or getting your oil changed, and you have nothing to read but the outdated magazines on the table? What if you had 100 different current magazine issues at your fingertips?

Now you do! Whatcom County Library System is partnering with Bellingham Public Library to bring you a new digital magazine service, called Zinio!

Zinio brings you full digital copies of your favorite magazines. You can download a new issue every month, like a subscription, or just read the latest issue online. You get the exact same pages and layout as the print magazine – ads and all – and some magazines even include interactive features, like video, audio, and web links. There are no “checkouts”, so all 100 magazines -- including popular titles like Newsweek and Consumer Reports, ESPN and Car & Driver, Family Circle and Good Housekeeping, Elle and Oprah, and more -- are available to everyone at any time.

You can read magazines on your computer, or if you’re stuck in that waiting room, on a tablet or smartphone with the free Zinio app. Together, your libraries have subscribed to 100 magazines with something for every reader, from sports to cycling, crafts to world politics.

Please note: To use a mobile device for Zinio, you will want to set up your Zinio account first, then download the Zinio app.

For Whatcom County Library System cardholders, visit or contact library staff at 360-384-3150.

For Bellingham Public Library cardholders, visit or call 360-778-7323 x3.

Both libraries also offer training opportunities on how to use Zinio and other technology; visit your library's website for dates and times.
